The design responds to the historic and environmentally sensitive nature of the site. The layout of the buildings and arenas sit in the contours in a responsive manner. The building forms respond to the idea of an Equestrian facility, the site context, and the ESD principals incorporated in the design. Environmentally sustainable design principles were applied to aspects of the design including water management and run off control, natural lighting and thermal comfort of the buildings. The benefits of these principles will reflect in the management and running costs of the facility.
