Timothy Court & Company were invited by the Hong Kong
Jockey Club to assist in preparing an offer for the hosting of the equestrian
component of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Due to insurmountable quarantine issues associated with
the hosting of the Equestrian Competition in mainland china, an alternative
was being sought for the location of this venue.
Timothy Court were engaged from the earliest inception
of the project and assisted the Jockey Club and Hong Kong Government in
site selection, feasibility studies, and the knowledge sharing of the
structures and responsibilites of the Federation Equestre Internationale,
International Olympic Committee and Beijing Organisingn Committee for
the Olympic Games.
The masterplan that was preapred by Timothy Court and
Company for both the Core Equestrian Venue and the Cross Country Course
Venue were accepted by the FEI and BOCOG and agreement was reached that
the Venue would be moved from Beijing to Hong Kong.
Timothy Court and Company are now engaged as lead architects
for the entire project up to and including the Olympic Competition in
2008.
